During school hours you can contact our Reception Team; you will be transferred to a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). If unavailable, they will contact you as soon as possible.
During out of hours and school holidays, should anyone have a safeguarding concern about a child that does not require an immediate response, they can contact:

At The Redway School we are all committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all practitioners should make sure their approach is child centred. This means that they should consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child.
Safeguarding legislation and government guidance says that safeguarding means:
– Protecting children from maltreatment
– Preventing impairment of children’s health or development
– Ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
– Taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcome
Ofsted, 2023 report that:
‘Staff know children and their families exceptionally well. Leaders organise helpful regular training and updates. This means staff are well informed and able to keep pupils safe. There are established systems and processes for reporting concerns. All staff work together as a team, and this results in a well-organised and thorough approach to safeguarding.’
We have a group of Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL’s) who ensure that a team approach to safeguarding is adopted and help to promote a deep awareness of safeguarding across the school and promote a safeguarding culture.
Our Lead DSL is Louise O’Dell. She is supported by Sarah Sykes and Sam Lazard who are our Deputy Lead DSL.
They are supported by DSL’s; Simon Hodges, Rob Gibbard, Peter Markham, and Tracy Snook, Crina Ceocoiu, Julia Wayment and Kerry Jones.
