Therapy Support at The Redway School
To ensure that these needs are met, we have a range of therapists who are part of our team, working with our pupils alongside classroom staff, as well as with parents / carers, who form part of the multidisciplinary team of professionals. Our therapists and therapy assistants may provide individual treatment to pupils or by supporting the delivery of individual treatment plans by classroom staff.
Our Therapy Teams
Pupils have access to the therapy team, but the level of support is determined by their EHC Plan or individual need. This level of support is reviewed at the EHCP review meetings, or sooner if necessary due to a change in the pupils needs.
Some ways in which the therapy teams work, include:
- Supporting classroom staff, parents / carers to show and empower them as to how they can work on developing pupils’ skills across a range of learning opportunities whilst at school or at home.
- Working together with classroom staff to develop a clear and holistic information base of a pupil’s skills and how these impact upon their learning, social skills, behaviour, and development of independence skills.
- Providing specific and targeted support for pupils as specified in their EHC Plans. This will always be based upon a pupil’s current needs, have jointly agreed relevant outcomes.
