Dear parents and carers,
Because of this, we’re reviewing our RSE curriculum and policy, so we can be sure our provision is appropriate for our pupils based on their:
Age and development stage
Physical and emotional maturity
Religious and cultural background
Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
We would appreciate having your input during this review. We also aim to seek the pupils’ voice, directly and/or through the parents and carers’ voice, on how RSE is taught in our school.
Here’s how you can help:
- We’re running a consultation meeting on 16/04/2025 at 10:00. If you’d like to attend, please email crina.ceocoiu@theredway.net or call school at 0190820000 to confirm your attendance.
This session should take no more than 1 hour and will take place at The Redway School.
To help you understand the requirements for RSE that we need to meet, please take a look at the guidance here:
Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education guidance
Of course, the Redway Curriculum is adapted to meet the needs of all learners in our school. The current curriculum (taught until July 2026) can be found on the school’s website.

- Beyond the consultation meeting, we also want to hear your thoughts on our curriculum and RSE policy throughout the year. We are planning to run a parent forum – online and in person – through the summer term. We’ll share more details of these during our consultation meetings, and in another letter in the near future.
